Help Us Make a Difference

Community Garden Workers​(groups, families, or individuals who'd like to lend a hand in tending vegetables and in keeping the surrounding property nice and neat)

  • ​Community work days, with no appointment necessary, are held at 10am on ​July 30, August 13, and August 27.
  • ​Larger service groups can be scheduled in advance by contacting cricnelda@gmail.com.  The ideal maximum group size is 30, but we'll welcome anyone.
  • ​After volunteers get familiar with the garden, they are welcome to return at their leisure and get to know refugee gardeners.
  • The garden is located at approximately 355 1/2 South 100 West in Logan,​ down the gravel drive.  The gate is never locked, but should be closed behind you if you're the last one out.

Citizenship Study Group Tutors Looking for people who can help people of various English-speaking abilities practice for their naturalization test and interview, who can explain in simple terms some very complex ideas

  • Wednesdays 5:30pm - 7pm in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church (on the corner of Center St. and 200 West in Logan, enter on the south side, down the short set of stairs.)

We are also in need of some Fundraising Volunteers who like to raise money and awareness.  We have no formal position for this, so if you have some ideas, let's talk.

Walk-In Hours Volunteers(looking for detail-oriented, flexible, friendly folks who can be patient when being put on hold during a phone call, and can confidently try to explain various pieces of paperwork)

  • Assist refugee families with looking over mail, calling for doctor appointments, filling out applications, and anything else that comes in the door
  • Mondays and Wednesdays 4-6pm in the conference room of Neighborhood Nonprofit Housing Corporation (195 W Golf Course Rd in Logan)
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am-12pm in the Temple Fork room of the Logan Library

Drivers' License Study Group Tutors Looking for people who can creatively explain the written test practice questions and have a fun time.  Also, we need people with Spanish speaking skills.

  • Wednesdays 6pm - 7pm and Saturdays 10am - 11am in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church (on the corner of Center St. and 200 West in Logan, enter on the s South side, down the short set of stairs)
