THIRD-PARTY FUNDRAISER

WANT TO HOST A FUNDRAISER?

Third-Party Fundraisers are a great way to get involved with our work. By hosting your own fundraiser with proceeds going to CRIC, you get to play a part in making Cachey Valley a "community for everyone."

Learn more about the guidelines and process of hosting a fundraiser by clicking through the questions below. Then simply submit the interest form and we will reach out to you.

Third-Party Fundraiser General Guidelines (READ FIRST)

1. Organizers must agree in writing to the policies CRIC sets out.

2. Any promotion of the event must avoid statement or appearance of CRIC endorsing any product, firm, organization, individual or service.

3. CRIC must approve all promotional materials, including but not limited to advertising, letters, brochures, flyers and press releases prior to production or distribution.

4. All promotional materials must clearly state the percentage of proceeds that will benefit CRIC.

5. If relevant, CRIC should receive a list of targeted sponsors for the event before they are approached in order to minimize overlap with other CRIC events and/or fundraising efforts that may be underway.

6. Event organizers are responsible for obtaining all necessary permits, especially those for raffles and/or games of chance.

7. If needed, event organizers must obtain their own liability insurance to cover the event.

8. Under no circumstances should third-party event revenue and expenses flow through CRIC books. Only the final net proceeds from the event are to be processed by CRIC.

9. CRIC should receive a complete accounting of all funds collected and expenses related to the event. We reserve the right to inspect all event financial records.

10. CRIC is not financially liable for the promotion and/or staging of third-party events.

What is a Third-Party Fundraiser?

A third-party fundraising event is when a business, organization, community group, school or individual hosts an event or program to benefit Cache Refugee and Immigrant Connection. It is planned and executed independently of CRIC.

Why should I have a Third-Party Fundraiser for CRIC?

A critical amount of CRIC’s funding comes from local donations. In order to promote integration, economic empowerment, and meaningful connections between refugees, immigrants, and the wider community, we need your help.

I want to organize a fundraiser for CRIC but I’m not sure what to do.

Listed below are some ideas of the many ways that you can help raise funds and awareness for CRIC. This list is by no means exhaustive; let your creativity guide you!

1. Hosting a fundraiser: Host a benefit concert, have a bake sale, service auction, or car wash; or donate a percentage of the profits from an event.

2. Collect cash donations: Set out collection canisters at an event or business, or organize a donation drive through your church or community network.

3. Designate CRIC as the beneficiary for your event: If your business or organization hosts an annual event that generates funds, consider donating a portion of the proceeds.

I want to host a fundraiser. What should I do next?

Submit a Fundraiser Proposal Form, found below. At the bottom of the form, you will need to agree to follow our fundraiser policies. Once we have approved your fundraiser, you are ready to start promoting your event.

What can CRIC do to help with my fundraiser?

The event sponsor is responsible for all details of the event, including:

1. Underwriting all of the related costs (CRIC cannot pay for supplies, t-shirts, etc.)

2. Printing of all materials

3. Creating flyers to publicize the event

4. Working at the actual event

5. Obtaining liability insurance if necessary

6. Obtaining any necessary permits (for example for raffles, public gatherings, etc.)

There are limits to how we can help. Resources CRIC may be able to provide include:

1. Materials such as CRIC brochures about programs and services

2. A representative from CRIC to speak at your event

3. Promotion through the CRIC website and social media

What if I'd like to do a donation drive for physical items?

As we've been resettling new refugee families, we have found an increase for donation drives. If you are interested in gathering and donating physical items to help us make a house a home, visit our donation drive page here.

If you have goods you'd like to donate but aren't interested in hosting a donation drive, please take them to thrift stores such as Somebody’s Attic and Deseret Industries. Individuals in need of supplies can request vouchers from CRIC staff for items they are unable to afford.
